Projects Division - About Department

The projects division is a link between the various stake-holders of NCRI and its activity centres functioning in various subject-specific domains. The projects division identifies the areas of intervention of NCRI, besides preparing annual plans and budgets.

Vision and Mission:
Provide resource support to projects / initiatives that are compatible with the NCRI mandate.

Functions:

  • Analysing project proposals though presentations made by stake-holders, and by engaging experts.
  • Undertaking project evaluation to assess the outcome and impact of the projects by engaging external / independent evaluating agencies.
  • Preparing the technical and operational guidelines for project preparation as well as resource / fund utilisation.
  • In addition, serves as a hub for forging partnerships with various institutions to promote the objectives of the Council.

The projects division is comprised of professionals with varied expertise and rich experience in rural development, agriculture, financial issues and environment education and other domains. Project proposals are meticulously screened and appraised by experts and finally approved by the Standing Committee on Basic Education. Projects from various states of the country, including the North-Eastern region, have been supported to ensure even outreach of NCRI across India. Projects worth a total of Rs. 24.33 crore have been sanctioned since the inception of NCRI till date.
