The First National Convention on Nai Talim held on 28 and 29 August 2010 at New Delhi was first of its kind at the national-level resulting in networking among approximately 300 Nai Talim institutions, ashramshalas, uttar buniyadi and uchcha uttar buniyadi schools on a single platform. It was a great achievement on the part of the National Council of Rural Institutes to work towards its mandate of rural higher education and work on the paradigm of Gandhian vision.
The consensus arrived at the two-day convention was that it can be an annual feature held at various places and organised by NCRI in collaboration with different state governments. Further, it was also opined that the NCRI could play a prominent role in networking and developing partnerships among Nai Talim institutions.
To continue its work in the same direction and bring about a holistic change in the development of the rural India in the form of imparting education for life, education through life and education throughout life, Second National Convention on Nai Talim is schedule to be held on 1 – 2 December 2011, Patna, Bihar to mark the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Kaka Kalelkar a Gandhian, social reformer, educationist, and journalist. Gandhiji started this experiment in Champaran, Bihar which spread to the nook and corner of the State of Bihar at that time. With this historical background Bihar was chosen as the venue for the 2nd National Convention in collaboration with the Bihar Government.
The convention is being jointly organised with A.N.Sinha Institute of Social Studies,Patna,Bihar.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar has consented to be the Chief Guest in the inaugural session on 1st December’2011.Hon’able Shri P.K.Shahi, Minister of HRD, Govt. of Bihar has consented to be the Guest of Honour.
This invite is intended to elicit your interest in participating in this convention as a delegate .You may also identify some Nai Talim institutions in your region and motivate them to participate in this convention.

The participating delegate will be provided with boarding and lodging facility by the NCRI. However, travel and other costs have to be borne by the participant themselves.
Convention arrangement
Participants will be received at the Patna Junction and Airport by the reception committee. Participants are advised to book their return tickets to avoid congestion. Advance notice of the travel plan will help us to receive you in time. In case of any gap participants can hire manual rickshaw on payment of Rs 20, shared auto rickshaw on payment of Rs 10 and reserve auto rickshaw on payment of Rs 50. Patna will be cold in December and therefore participants are advised to bring their woolen clothes.
Transport arrangements will be made to receive the guest to the place of accommodation and the venue of convention.
Tourist Spot
The Bodh Gaya, place of enlightenment of Buddha and Shanti Stoop at Rajgir are the two world class tourist place besides the Ruins of world fame Nalanda University and ruins of Emperor Ashoka at Kumharar in Patna. Transport will be arranged on payment for the interested persons subject to well in advance notice.
